The Ashgabat municipal authorities are concerned about curtains in residential districts. Officials demand that inhabitants replace window curtains with shutters.
Representatives of the khyakimlik’s office have contacted the inhabitants residing in Gagarin street and Astronauts Avenue three times over the past two weeks with a request to replace curtains with shutters. Many obeyed but there are those who still resist.
“It turns out that we are no longer masters in our own homes! – says an outraged female inhabitant of a residential house located in Astronauts Avenue. – The rooms, even the kitchen will look like an office! Why do I need shutters in my bedroom?” Some apartment owners suggested that apparently some company covered by officials need to sell their merchandise.
The residents of elite houses located on the main protocol motorway (formerly, Podvoiskogo street) were requested to urgently install grey window shutters and keep them closed. “This is needed to ensure safety of the head of the state!” – the authorities told the inhabitants when making a raid of all apartments.
